Labor Day’s here!
If you are like me, it is a much needed break in the action, and the official end of summer.
Many of us will be celebrating with parades, barbecues, fireworks, beaches etc..but how many of us actually know the meaning of the holiday?
While the holiday is annually held on the first Monday of September, it was originally organized to celebrate various labor associations’ strengths of and contributions to the United States economy.
It is a celebration of the American labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. (that’s us)
It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Gratefully , it is largely a day of relaxation and entertainment, and as our old friend Ferris suggested,
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
Thanks for the reminder!
And that’s what Nudelberg says!
